the short version
PayCount doesn't collect your data. Your income sources and your settings live in a local file on your Mac, in the app's own sandbox, and never leave your machine. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no tracking in the app. The one exception is the update check, described below.
the one network call
The only time PayCount talks to the internet is to look for a new version. It fetches a small update file from updates.davidkinani.com, hosted on GitHub Pages, and downloads the new release if there is one. Nothing about you or your income is sent with that request.
your email address
PayCount is free for newsletter subscribers, so if that's how you got it, I have your first name and email address. They're stored in my own database and in Resend, the service I use to send email. I don't sell or share them, and every newsletter I send has an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing doesn't affect the app — it stays yours and keeps updating.
questions
I'm David, and I make PayCount on my own. If anything here is unclear, email me at chat@davidkinani.com and I'll give you a straight answer.
